The Germans don’t write Fussball. It’s called Fußball because it is a LONG “u”. We only use the double s when we pronounce something short. But we say “Fuuuuuuuuußball” cuz of a looooooooong u. And not Fussball.

Yeah, it’s actually the Swiss version of the word: We write “Fussball” because we never use the  “ß”
